Woman injured in early morning assault
Tuesday morning, at about 6:30, a Louisiana woman called the Orange Police Dept. to report an assault.
The victim told Officer Marcus Bernard that she had gone outside to get something from her car, and was approached from behind by what she believed was a white male.
The victim told police that the unknown male grabbed her hair and forced her to the ground, causing her to hit her head on the ground. The woman said she begun to yell for help, and at that time, the suspect placed both hands around her throat and applied pressure making it hard for her to breathe.
The woman advised that he the man let her throat go, he drug her across the driveway causing injuries to her knees and elbows.
The man was reportedly wearing dark clothes, and possibly a hooded sweatshirt. The woman was unable to get a good look at the suspect’s face, or any other identifying details.
The victim told police that she believes the man was attempting to take her vehicle.
The woman was taken to Baptist Hospital in Orange by Acadian Ambulance for treatment. She stated that she does wish to press charges if a suspect is located.
