Newton County teen delivers stillborn baby at home

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, Nov. 3, a Newton County 17 year old female was brought to Orange Baptist Hospital by her mother because she had delivered a stillborn baby girl.

Newton County Authorities were contacted and were told exactly where they could find the baby.

The baby, who was born sometime in the evening on Tuesday, was found and brought to the Orange Baptist Hospital. Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Judge Rodney Price ordered an autopsy to be performed and the baby was transported to the Southeast Texas Forensic Center in Jefferson County.

The preliminary cause of death was reported as natural causes. According to Newton County Sheriff Joe Walker, there will be no ongoing investigation and no charges will be filed.

The names of the mother and her family were not released.
