Failure to identify lands Orange man in jail
On December 13, at 10:46 am, Officer Patrick McDonald, with the Orange Police Dept., was dispatched to the area of 6th Street and Cherry Avenue in reference to a suspicious black male knocking on several neighborhood doors.
The caller advised that the man was wearing a grey sweatshirt, and going door to door.
Upon arrival, Officer McDonald observed a man matching the suspect’s description riding a bicycle on the side of the roadway. Officer McDonald made contact with the man, who verbally identified himself as Derrick Doucet.
When police received consent to search the man’s pockets, a wallet was found in the man’s pocket with a Texas driver’s license identifying him as Derrick Duncan, 25, of Orange.
Duncan was placed under arrest for failure to identify, and giving false/fictitious information. He was transported to the Orange County Jail and released to jail staff.
