Dorothy Anthony Denton, 89, of Center, passed away March 2, at Green Acres Nursing Home in Center.

She was born June 5, 1922 in Shelby County to William Scott Anthony and Kizzie Frances Baggett Anthony. Mrs. Denton was a member of the Old Orange Baptist Church in Orange.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 5, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Kerry Green and Bro. Ronnie Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery with Bro. Dale Pate officiating.

She is survived by a special niece, who she lovingly referred to as “Sister”, Billie Hooper of Shelbyville; daughter, Jan Freeman of Bridge City; grandson, Brandon Freeman and wife Casey of Tulsa OK; granddaughters, Kristen Freeman and fiancé, Jordan Bell of Bridge City, Nikolle Freeman of Bridge City.

Other survivors include her great grandchildren, Olivia Freeman, Joslyn Freeman, Jakub Freeman; son-in-law of 23 years, Robert Freeman of Bridge City.

Preceded in death by parents, William Scott And Kizzie Frances Anthony; brothers, Lee Anthony, Wood Anthony, Jim Anthony, Marlin Anthony and Dick Anthony; sister; Evie Wagstaff; father of her daughter, Harry Denton.
