Boat stolen from storage facility
Sunday morning at 8:19 am, Officer Theodore Hilyar with the Orange Police Dept., responded to a call in reference to a theft. Upon arrival at 1704 Georgia, Officer Hilyar met with the reporting party, Randall Dupuis.
Dupuis told police that when he arrived at the property, which is a boat launch/storage area, he noticed the gate’s lock and chain that secures the property missing.
Upon opening the gate, Dupuis said he noticed that his friend’s boat was missing. Dupuis contacted his friend, Leo Reddoch, to see if Reddoch had taken to boat. Reddoch told Dupuis he did not have the boat, or give anybody permission to take the boat.
Dupuis stated the last time he saw the boat was March 16, when he went to check the property after the previous theft of several propellers. Dupuis advised officers that the boat was still parked along the fence with other aluminum boats.
The boat is described as a 20 foot Camouflage “Gator Trax” aluminum boat, with a 36 HP “Gator Tail” surface drive mud motor. Also missing is a 20 foot galvanized boat trailer.
