Wednesday, March 21, at about 4:55 pm., Officer Theodore Hilyar was dispatched to the Flying J Truck Stop in the 7100 block of IH-10 in reference to a shoplifter. When Hilyar arrived on the scene, he met with the store manager, Robert Secondi, who advised that he had a white male detained in the rest area of the store.

Secondi told police that he observed the man, who was identified as David Gregg Brohawn, 51, of Florida, walk in and out of the store several times. Brohawn was seen taking, and leaving with an 18 pack of beer, and a Road Pro tool set. Secondi advised police that he did not want to press charges for shoplifting, but he did want a criminal trespass warning issued to Brohawn.

When Officer Hilyar approached Brohawn to speak with him about the incident, he observed Brohawn to be intoxicated and placed him into custody for public intoxication. The man was transported to the Orange County Jail and booked.

The value of the items taken was $37.
