Benja McKinney, 90, of Clovis, NM, died Saturday, March 17, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 22, at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with the Rev. Dick Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers include Michael McKamy, Michael Braun, Larry Moss, Harry Zalewski, Ethan Davis, Jason Davis, Jerry Soloman, Harold Snell, and George Davis.
Benja was born April 21, 1921, to M. Benjamin and Minnie Lorena (Hensley) Johnston in Bosque County, TX. She married Jack A. McKinney November 28, 1937, in Lubbock. Benja was a member of Central Baptist Church, Eastern Star, Pink Ladies, PRMC Auxilary, UTU Auxilary, and worked with girl scouts and cub scouts.
Survivors include her son, Billy Jack (Karen) McKinney of Orange; daughter, Debra (Michael) McKamy of Molt, MT; seven grandchildren, Kim McKinney, Heather Willis, Connor McKamy, Eric McKamy, Kelly McKamy, Cory Spencer, and Cliff McKinney; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband, Jack; son, Robert Ben McKinney; and granddaughter, Shelley McKinney.
