The Celebration of Life for Mr. Namon James “George” Washington, 68, of Orange will be Saturday at noon, at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. C.W. Crawford, pastor, will officiate.

Rites of Christian Burial will follow in Hollywood Community Cemetery under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until noon at the church.

He died Friday, April 20 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. An Orange native, he was a 1963 graduate of Emma H. Wallace High School. He was employed by the former American Bridge Shipyard.

Survivors include one daughter, Pam Riggs of Houston; five nephews, Mack Toler, Jr., Melvin Gilbert, Olin Gilbert, Paul Gilbert, and Moses Gilbert, all of Orange; and two nieces, Valarie Washington of Houston, and Shirley Gilbert of Orange.
