Alligator visits Orange County Correctional Facility
Maintenance Workers arriving at the Orange County Correctional Facility this morning observed a five foot alligator at the entrance to the Jail’s Sally Port.
The alligator apparently had walked up to the facility sometime during the night. Sheriff Merritt, with the assistance of several Orange PD officers were able to capture the alligator and transport it to the Sabine River where they released the alligator.
