Employees arriving to work at Little Cypress Elementary School Monday morning discovered that a storage building had been burglarized. Officer Marcus Bernard met with Ronnie Skiles, who is the maintenance supervisor.

Skiles told Officer Bernard that an employee, who was identified as Elray Philen, advised that the padlock on the storage building had been busted, and the building was broken into. The lock was reportedly secured when employees left work Friday afternoon.

Reported missing from the storage building are a Stihl back-pack blower, and a Stihl weed eater. Both items are marked with “LCM” inscribed very deep into the plastic. The items are valued at approximately $875.

Skiles advised that the school district will pursue charges if a suspect is located.
