Cecil C. Frederick, 82, of Vidor, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, at his home in Vidor. He was born in Beaumont and lived in Vidor since 1961. Cecil served in the US Army Corps of Engineers and for the Texas Highway Patrol.

He was employed by Quatum and retired after 36 years there. He also enjoyed being a Paramedic Instructor, working in the ambulance services and for Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Cecil was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Caney Creek Open Door Church. He loved his family, church family, and his many friends. He dedicated his life helping others and those who love him have said they could see Jesus in his eyes.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Versie Frederick; and his parents, Charlie and Alice Frederick.

He is survived by his three children: Cynthia Frederick, Rebecca Nunnally, Arden and wife, Robyn Frederick, all of Vidor; six grandchildren: Scott Stubblefield; Toby and wife, Regina Stubblefield; Kevin and wife, Janice Stubblefield; Jake and wife, Madeline Bryant; Hunter Nunnally; and Trevor Frederick; five great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Roger and wife, Lena Frederick and Bobby Frederick; numerous nieces and nephews and one special niece, Cotton Top.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Oretta Community Cemetery in Oretta, LA.
