Darrel Joseph Bertrand, 28, of Orange, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas, in Orange, after an accident. Born on Nov. 4, 1983 in Orange, to his parents, Dallas Joseph Bertrand and Gladys Marie (Burch) Bertrand, he was a lifelong resident of Orange and he worked with the American Airboat Corporation in Orange where he gave tours and performed task as needed.

Darrel enjoyed fishing and hunting and being in the outdoors and will be missed by many who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, Hark and Opal Burch; and his aunt, Betty Burch.

Those who will most cherish his memory are his siblings, Brenda St. Clair and husband, Ray of Trinity, April Jones of Lake Arthur, LA., Donna Schoultz and husband, Preddie of Baytown, Dennis Bertrand and wife, Jan of Lake Charles and Bryan Bertrand and wife, Jennifer of Baytown.

Other survivors include his dear friend, whom he loved as a sister, Belinda Molin and her husband, Chad and their children, Casey Molin, Taylor Molin and Alysa Molin all of Orange; his uncle and aunt, J.C. and Daisy Reeves of Orange; his uncles, Larry Burch and Charles Burch of Orange as well as his dear friends, Stan Floyd, Faron Floyd and all of his co-workers at American Airboats.

A gathering of Darrel’s family and friends for a time of sharing and reflection will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange with cremation to follow.
