Orange police were called at about 4:30 am, Nov. 2, to the Ramada Inn in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. Upon arrival at the hotel, in the 2600 block of IH-10, Officer Robert Campbell spoke with the victim, Charles Jordan, of Missouri, who told police that he had been working in the area.

When he left his room at about 4:00 am, to return to his home, observed that there was somebody in his 2002 Ford flatbed work truck, with the driver’s side door open. Jordan said that he yelled at the suspect, which caused the suspect to run around the corner of the building.

Jordan then saw a small, blue 4-door car leave the parking lot at a high rate of speed on the opposite side of the building. Jordan walked to his truck and observed that the driver’s side door lock had been punched, and that the steering column and ignition had been destroyed.

No personal items appeared to be missing from the truck, however the victim advised that he would like to press charges if the suspect is located and identified.
