LIT will graduate more than 220 on Dec. 14

Lamar Institute of Technology will award more than 220 associate of applied science degrees and certificates at its Fall Commencement at 7 p.m. on Dec. 14 at the Montagne Center.

Speaker for the ceremony is Trisha Pollard, regent for The Texas State University System.

Pollard is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and South Texas College of Law. She began her career as Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation, was the natural gas industry’s first female gas buyer and later became manager of the Gas Supply Department.

After she earned her law degree, she worked at Transco as the Gas Supply Department’s attorney. She then worked for PennUnion Energy Services and Kinder Morgan Texas Pipeline before retiring in 2003.

She now is the managing partner of Pollard Development, L.P.

She and her husband Randy live in Bellaire, and they have three children, Matt, Jenny and Jonathan.
