UPDATE: Chase Bank suspect in custody on unrelated charges

Update: The suspect believed to have robbed the Chase Bank on Wednesday is in custody in a jail in Shreveport, La.

He has been arrested and is being held on an outstanding warrant from Galveston County of an aggravated robbery charge. It is also believed the suspect has committed other bank robberies in Louisiana.

Charges on the bank robbery in Orange are still pending as investigators look to wrap up their case as early as next week.

Officers with the City of Orange Police Department were dispatched to the Chase Bank, located 3109 North 16th Street in reference to a robbery at 11:19 a.m.

When officers arrived they were informed of white male entering the bank and demanding money. The man left the bank and got into a 2000 model, Ford F-150, single cab pickup, with an undetermined amount of money. The pickup was last observed traveling north on 16th Street towards Interstate 10 and heading towards Louisiana.

Police do not know the current whereabouts of the woman who accompanied the suspect to the bank robbery in Orange.

Police were informed by a witness at the scene of the robbery they had spotted a vehicle and the suspect acting suspiciously. The witness wrote down the license plate and later contacted investigators. The Orange Police Department has already issued an attempt to locate on the vehicle and were able to match the information provided to the suspect vehicle.

When officers arrived on scene, at approximately 11:20 a.m., they were advised that a white male entered the bank and demanded money. The white male left the bank and got into a 2000 model, Ford F-150, single cab pickup, with an undetermined amount of money. The pickup was last observed traveling North on 16th Street towards Interstate 10. It is believed the pickup went into Louisiana on Interstate 10. The white male was accompanied in the pickup by a white female.
