Livestock found shot in Vidor
Monday, April 15, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 14000 block of Mansfield Rd. in South Vidor regarding cruelty to animals. When deputies arrived on the scene at approximately 8:50 am, they met with the caretaker of the property.
The caretaker told deputies that he arrived to work that morning, and found 15 head of cattle had been shot with an unknown type weapon during the night. The cows that had been shot, were all female, and several of them were small calves.
OCSO criminal investigations division also responded and are currently investigating the incident. Investigators are following several leads, but are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to please contact the OCSO at 883-2612.
The exact cost of the cows has not been determined.
