An Orange man was killed Tuesday night following a one car accident in which he was ejected from the vehicle he was driving. James Lacy Francis, 58, of Orange, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Francis' 2007 BMW Mini Cooper was southbound near the Jack Brooks Airport when he appeared to lose control of the vehicle while traveling at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle reportedly struck a cement retaining wall on US Hwy. 69 and overturned several times. The vehicle was found in the ditch near the median.

An autopsy has been ordered by Justice of the Peace Marc Derouen.
