Gladys Juanita Rodgers, 73, of Orange, passed away at her home, Thursday, July 11. Cremation will be under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, July 20, at 1:00 p.m. at The Cowboy Church in Orange, with a gathering of family and friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time. A luncheon to follow immediately after the service.
Gladys was born June 21, 1940 in Gause, Tx.  She was the daughter of Henry Luther Mitchell and Lorance Luce Hodge. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, James Peet and wife, Robin of Vidor, Lance Peet and wife, Cindy of Rosenberg, Jeff Peet and wife, Angela of Bridge City, Manny Peet and wife, Michelle of Orange; daughters, Brandi Peet Harris and husband, Brian of Orangefield, and Regina Williams of Vidor; brother, Jimmy Mitchell and wife, Gail of Orangefield; sister, Ida Broussard, and husband, James of Hemphill.
 She also is survived by 19 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many family members who loved her deeply.
Gladys was a long time resident of Orange, and attended Lutcher Stark High School. She worked many years at a previous local restaurant Zak’s, and later worked and retired from Wal-Mart in Orange after 17 years of service. She was a caring and compassionate mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was an avid lover of football her entire life, and she enjoyed watching her sons and grandson play.  She found comfort and joy spending time with her family and loved them deeply. Her biggest joy was being silly with her grandchildren, and spoiling them.
