LIT offers summer welding course

Lamar Institute of Technology will offer a basic/intermediate MIG welding course through its Workforce Training & Continuing Education Department.
The class will run from July 22 through Aug. 9, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the LIT Technical Training & Education Building, 4075 MLK Jr. Parkway.
This is a non-credit course that will teach students the basics of MIG welding.
Required equipment for the class is hood, welder’s cap, shade 10 or 11 lens, clear lens, long-sleeved 100% cotton shirt or leather sleeves or leather jacket, long 100% cotton work pants (jeans), high-top leather boots (steel toe), leather gloves, chipping hammer, wire brush, safety glasses, cutting goggles or shade (shade 5), measuring tape, tip cleaner, 12-inch combination square and pliers.
