Joyce Elaine Drees Millar, passed away Monday, Aug. 12, at Baptist Hospital in Orange. Born on April 17, 1936 in Houston, to Roy Benjamin Drees and Mary Malissa (Arnold) Drees, she graduated from Stark High School in 1954. She was a registered nurse at Orange Memorial Hospital for many years, and also worked in the home health industry in quality control.

Joyce then went to work for Southeast Texas Hospice until her retirement. She was an excellent nurse and touched many lives throughout her career. Joyce was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Orange, where she served as the parish nurse.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents.

Those who will most cherish her memory are her husband, Bill Millar; daughters, Melissa Pousson and husband, Ray, and Joy Richard and husband, C. L. all of Orange; step sons, Paul Millar and wife, Stacy of Phoenix, Arizona and Kelly Millar and wife, Alberta of Galveston, Texas. Joyce is also survived by her beloved grandsons, Matthew Richard, Cody Richard, Ben Pousson, Taylor Pousson, Brandon Millar, and great granddaughter, Emily Richard.

Services to honor her life will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Grace Lutheran Church, 2300 Eddleman Road in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Tom Haas, pastor of the church, and Joyce’s grandson, Brother Matthew Richard, pastor of Eastwood Baptist Church in Gatesville. Rite of committal and Interment will follow services in the Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Honoring Joyce as pallbearers are C. L. Richard, Ray Pousson, Taylor Pousson, Cody Richard, Ben Pousson and Paul Millar. Honorary pallbearer will be Kelly Millar.

For those who desire memorial donations, the family has requested donations to the Grace Lutheran Church, 2300 Eddleman Road, Orange, Texas 77632-4405, and/or Southeast Texas Hospice, Post Office Box 2385, Orange, Texas 77631-2385.
