Orange man arrested for public intoxication

An Orange man was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 11, after several reports of a suspicious male running through people's yards and stumbling in the roadway. Police observed a man who fit the suspect's description in the Sunset Ave. and 20th St. area at about 10:00 pm.

The man, who was identified as Darrell Richard Chabaud, appeared to be paranoid and told police that people were after him, and was asking officers to shoot him. `

Due to Chabaud's physical demeanor, actions reported to officers, as well as his actions in front of officers, he was taken into custody on public intoxication charges. He was transported to the Orange County Jail and released to jail staff.
