The Texas Department of Public Safety received a report at approximately 7:41 p.m., of a one vehicle crash on the Neches River bridge in Orange county. Troopers responded to the scene.

A black Infinity passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound in the outside lane (right lane) of Interstate 10 when a pedestrian walked from the middle of the Interstate into eastbound traffic. The driver could not avoid striking the pedestrian.

The driver of the Infinity, Debra Krenek of Houston, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital for observation. Her husband, Michael Krenek of Houston, was the only passenger in the vehicle and he was not injured. The pedestrian was a 14 year old girl from Vidor. At this time, her name will not be released.

All eastbound lanes remain closed until further notice. The Texas Department of Transportation has the closure and detour information posted on message boards.

Further details will be released as it becomes available.
