Monday morning Orange Police were dispatched to a construction area on Farm to Market Road 3247 in reference to theft of construction materials. Officer Caleb Davis met with job foreman Jose Juarez, who is currently employed with James Construction.

Juarez stated that unknown persons had unlawfully removed 16 pallets of hardiplank from the new construction site. The site is fenced in with secured gates. The gate is secured by chain and lock.

The items were moved with an on site fork lift and hauled off on a semi-truck. Evidence at the site, which includes tire tracks in the mud and the amount of items taken, brings investigators to these conclusions.

According to Juarez, 16 pallets contains 190 pieces of hardiplank, valued at $9 per piece, which brings the total loss to an estimated $27,000.Hardiplank is a type of industrial cement siding.

Juarez stated that he wished to file charges if a suspect was found.
