Student Council members represented Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School at a Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) Advanced Leadership Workshop at Mo Ranch February 14-16.

Theresa Beckett, Sydney Smith, Madison Miller, Savanna Smith, McKenzie DiLeo, and Kaylee Patillo were LCM’s delegates to the workshop, which included students from across the State of Texas. During the three days of leadership training and idea sharing, they gained the tools and the knowledge necessary to not only improve student council effectiveness in their local school but also to enhance their personal leadership skills.

Savanna Smith, a senior, served as a Junior Counselor for the Mo Ranch Workshop. Three more LCM HS students were selected to be Summer Workshop Junior Counselors for the coming summer. Sophomore Madison Miller will be at a high school workshop at Texas State in late July-early August. Freshmen Sydney Smith will work a middle level workshop, also at Texas State in mid-July. Kaylee Pattillo, also a freshmen, will serve as a junior counselor at a middle level, one-day workshop in Houston in September. According to Student Council Sponsor, Stacey Smith, “This is a great honor for these ladies.”
