The Strutters attended the American Dance Galveston Island regional competition recently. The officers earned runner-up overall in small team category. They received a Judges Awards in novelty and modern as well as Outstanding Precision, Outstanding Presentation and Outstanding Choreography. They also won Gussie Nell Davis Excellence Award and Sweepstakes. Officers are Captain Ciara Cooper, First Lt. Kristen Young, and Lt. Chassadi Decker. The Strutter competition team won Sweepstakes and Gussie Nell Davis Excellence Award.

They also received Judges Awards in all five categories – contemporary, novelty, kick, open and prop as well as Outstanding Precision and Outstanding Choreography. They won first runner-up overall in small team category and won Academic Champions overall. Soloists Raven Cormier Lauren Guidry won solo finalist with Rachel Hecker and Kristen Young winning in the duet category.
