OC Sheriff’s Dept. investigating possible officer impersonation
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a report made to Deputies that a 24 year old Bridge City man was stopped by a person who he says he believes was impersonating a police officer.
According to Chief Deputy Clint Hodgkinson, the incident was reported to have occurred on Friday, May 9, 2014, around 9 p.m., on IH-10 eastbound in the area of the Neches River Bridge near the Orange County line.
The man who reported the incident said the suspect is a heavy set, bald black male. According to the victim, the man was not wearing a uniform, had no badge or weapon, and did not identify himself or any agency affiliation. The suspect was driving a dark colored SUV with flashing lights just above the visor, according to the victim.
Investigators have been working to develop leads and ask that if anyone has any information on the crime or suspect to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
