Kevin Barbay has resigned his position at Lamar to take a similar position announced Cardinals head coach Ray Woodard Monday afternoon. Barbay served as the Cardinals receivers coach for the past two seasons.

“Kevin did a great job here at Lamar both coaching and recruiting,” said Woodard. “He has a tremendous opportunity at Colorado State, and we wish him all the best. I know he will go on to do great things in his future.”

The Cardinals hauled in 307 passes for 3,456 yards and 33 touchdowns last seasons. Junior-to-be Reggie Begelton had a breakout year under Barbay hauling in a school-record 82 catches for 858 yards and eight scores. Begelton’s 82 catches were also the top mark in the Southland last season. Following the year, both Begelton and senior-to-be Mark Roberts received all-conference recognition.
