Five arrested on drug charges
Wednesday, Aug. 13, at about 10:30 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Narcotics Deputies conducted a search warrant at 1215 Hwy 12, in Vidor, stemming from an investigation of illegal drug activity.
During the search warrant, Deputies found approximately 40 grams of Methamphetamine in the residence. The occupants of the residence were arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a second degree felony. The names of those arrested were: Christian Swaim, 33 year; Ginger Swaim, 57; Annabelle Swaim, 32; Christopher John Smith, 31, and James Townsend, 26, all of Vidor.
Justice of the Peace of Precinct 1, Judge David Peck, set a bond of $5,000 on each of the arrestees for the possession of a controlled substance charge.
Christopher Smith also had four warrants for class B misdemeanors, which increased his total bond to $7,000, and Annabelle Swaim had four class C misdemeanor warrants for traffic violations, which increased her bond to $6,000.
As of Thursday, August 14, only James Townsend and Christopher Smith had not made bail, and currently remain in custody at the Orange County Jail. Christian, Ginger, and Annabelle Swaim made bail by 7:45 p.m. on August 14.
