Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School English teacher, Melissa Becker was recently notified that she had won First Place in the Graduate Fiction Division in the Texas Association of Creative Writing Teachers.

She was convinced to submit her story, “Looking Inside Tulips,” by her creative writing professor. She says she was very surprised when she got word that she had won first place and would be reading her story at the Annual Conference of the TACWT later this month.

This is Ms. Becker’s third year teaching and those years have all been at LCM. She teaches Pre-AP English, English 2 and 3 and STAAR English 2.
