A couple was arrested Tuesday morning in the Waffle House parking lot after police responded to a call about suspicious behavior.

Officers responded to the 2300 block of Hwy. 62 at approximately 1:30 am, and met with the suspects who were sitting in a Ford pickup in the parking lot. A woman, who first gave a false name, was eventually identified as 42 year old Carmen Suzanne Lebert, of Orange, was arrested on two warrants out of Bridge City - open container, and public intoxication.

While waiting on confirmation of warrants on Lebert, officers spoke with the passenger in the vehicle, Ronald Wayne Davis, 52, of Galena Park. Upon speaking with Davis, police detected the smell of alcohol on his breath, and was arrested for public intoxication.

Both were transported to the Orange County Jail and released to jail staff.
