The American Association of University Women (AAUW) presented a donation to North Early Learning Center for the purchase of children’s books recently.

“We are very thankful and excited to have received a donation from the American Association of University Women. This money will be used to support our goal of providing every student with a new book each month to help families build home libraries and foster an appreciation and love for reading and learning,” Sherry Hardin, North Early Learning Center Principal, said.

The campus is also partnering with Janell Ramsey, AAUW, to provide literacy training to North Early Learning Center parents. This training will include storytelling, a total book experience, and other early literacy skills. The first session will be Oct. 16.

“Our partnership with AAUW will help build the home-to-school bridge and provide our students with a strong literacy foundation,” Hardin said.
