The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting warm conditions to last through the weekend, with small chances for showers and thunderstorms each afternoon.

On Monday a strong cold front will approach the region, producing numerous showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be strong to severe. Damaging winds is the primary threat, mainly from Monday afternoon through early Tuesday morning.

Due to strong winds on Monday and Tuesday, tides will run above normal on Monday and below normal Tuesday.

Tuesday through Thursday next week looks to be cooler, with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s.

In the tropics, there could be a tropical cyclone developing in the Atlantic, but it poses no risk for our region over the next seven days.
