NWS predicting cold weekend

Last updated 11/6/2014 at Noon

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting a cool and dry end of the week and weekend. Low temperatures by Saturday morning will be in the upper 30s to mid 40s, and highs this weekend will be in the 60s.

After a warm up early next week, rain chances return for Tuesday and early Wednesday. But no severe weather is expected. Rain totals will be between 0.10 and 0.50 inch.

In the tropics, a low pressure area northeast of the Bahamas has a small chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours, but beyond that, no tropical activity is expected in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, or tropical Atlantic in the next week.
