The team of Oak Bluff Memorial Park have always believed their work is a "mission of service," considering it a privilege to help families during a most difficult time in their lives.

Because the loss of a loved one can be especially difficult during the holiday season, Oak Bluff is providing a Holiday Memorial Tree cosponsored by Melancon’s Funeral Home. The tree will be located in Oak Bluff’s Tranquility Mausoleum from Nov. 28 until Jan. 3. Every Southeast Texas family is invited to bring a special ornament or holiday card dedicated to their loved one and hang it on the tree. Holiday cards will be available in the Tranquility Mausoleum that

families can fill out and hang on the tree. Clear bulb ornaments will also be available with colored pens and paper slips. Mourners and family members can write loved ones’ names on and place special notes inside the bulbs. All items can be picked up from the Oak Bluff office after Jan. 3 until Feb. 1.

Oak Bluff and Melancon’s has provided the Holiday Memorial Tree for anyone who has lost a loved one. The loved one does not have to be interred at Oak Bluff.

Craig Melancon, Funeral Director, states, “We had such a positive response and many thank you’s last year, that we want to continue the tradition.”

Established in 1905, Oak Bluff Memorial Park Cemetery was purchased by the Hauck Family in 2004. Oak Bluff has been the cemetery of choice for generations of families in Southeast Texas. In addition to many prominent families of the area, Oak Bluff is the burial place of Tex Ritter.

Oak Bluff has also been the host of the annual Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day Services conducted by the local VFW. The park has many burial options available: Ground, Family Estates, Private and Community Mausoleums, Urn burial and Niches as well as complete monument and headstone services.

A new office was recently built on site to better serve the families of the community. Together with sister locations Melancon’s Funeral Home, Memory Gardens Cemetery and Dews Memorials, Oak Bluff continues the tradition of offering

professional, compassionate and affordable funeral and burial services to all southeast Texas families.

By dedicating this tree to the memory of each person that is no longer with their families during the holiday season.

Families are invited to write a special holiday message on a special card or ornament and hang it on the memorial tree.
