Kiolbassa sausage on menu at Governor’s Inauguration
San Antonio-based Kiolbassa Provisions is supplying 4,000 pounds of its legendary flavored, slow-crafted smoked sausage – enough sausage links to stretch a country mile; one and a half miles to be exact! – for Governor Greg Abbott’s Inaugural festivities today.
“Kiolbassa is a family operated business passionate about what we do, the communities we serve and excited to serve fellow Texans and visitors alike today. We are proud to be a part of this celebration and grateful to have been invited by Dallas Caterer Eddie Deen to participate in this time-honored Texas tradition,” says President Michael Kiolbassa, the third generation family member to run the company started in 1949 by his grandfather, Rufus Kiolbassa.
Four thousand pounds of Kiolbassa Jalapeno Beef are being served at the State Capitol grounds for the outdoor barbecue prepared by Terrell, TX-based Deen & Company.
According to Business Week magazine, only about 13 percent of family-owned small businesses today last long enough to be passed on to the 3rd generation. So Kiolbassa Provisions sits in exceptionally good company.
Although Kiolbassa sausage is available in 46 states, Puerto Rico and Mexico, the family has stayed true to their grandfather’s vision using only fresh spices, choice beef and pork in small batches and smoked to perfection at the original plant, still situated on the Westside of the Alamo City, before being delivered to your neighborhood grocer.
The Kiolbassa name means everything. That’s why Mike Kiolbassa guarantees that if it’s not the best sausage you’ve ever tasted, he’ll return your money. Learn more about recipes, promotions and in-store demos at www.kiolbassa.com.
