Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School has a team who not only qualified for state, but placed fourth in the first ever UIL State Young Filmmakers Festival. “Ruthless,” written, directed, produced, and edited by Jake Portie, was ranked fourth in the division one, narrative category. The actors, who completed the team, were Shannon Boozer, Mariah Blair and Sheridan Rogers.
The films were divided into two divisions and three groups: Animation, Documentary, and Narrative. At the State level, six or more films were chosen in each category. All of the state level films were judged at the State Finals Festival at the Paramount Theatre in Austin on February 18. Ginger Bourque is the sponsor of LCM’s film team.
