LIT accepting applications for Smith-Hutson Scholarships

Lamar Institute of Technology will reopen applications for the Smith-Hutson Scholarship Program.

The last date applications will be accepted is by 5:00 p.m. on April 15.

These scholarships will be distributed to students enrolled in academic programs at LIT and may be used for tuition, books, supplies, mileage, housing and meal plans.

The scholarships are intended for students with established financial need and academic potential who are seeking a degree or certificate at LIT. As long as students maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and complete 24 credit hours toward their associate degree each academic year, they will remain eligible to receive the scholarship for the duration of their two-year program.

For students in certificate programs, they must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and enroll in a minimum of 12 semester credit hours toward their certificates in order to continue to receive the scholarship.
