On Monday, May 11, recently hired Bridge City High School Head Football Coach Dwayne DuBois and his wife, Cristal, were named 2014-2015 Coach of the Year by the Southeast Texas Region Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In the Fall of 2014, Coach DuBois led the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks deep into the UIL State Playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Though normally given solely to the Head Coach, Cristal shared the award with her husband and is an active participant in FCA having attended numerous leadership conferences as well as serving as a youth leader in FCA camps throughout the summer. The role she plays in supporting the football program in planning team-building activities and the work she does to assist Coach DuBois is incredible and was obviously recognized as such by the selection committee.

Coach DuBois returned to his alma mater in February of this year and will be leading the Cardinals on the gridiron this next football season. BCISD Athletic Director Richard Briggs shared that "We are very proud for Coach DuBois and Cristal on receiving this honor and we are excited about the many positives they both will bring to the students of BCHS. As evident by this award, the impact that Coach DuBois has started to make and will continue to make on the youth of Bridge City reaches far beyond the playing field. Our community is fortunate to have him back home and working with the children of BCISD."

Coach DuBois and staff will be hosting football camps for area youth this summer and will begin "two-a-day" workouts in preparation for the high school season in early August.
