Blue Bell is on the road again

Blue Bell Ice Cream has announced that their "Trucks are back on the road" in a video released Tuesday afternoon. The trucks are filled with Blue Bell Ice Cream. In a tweet, the company said they will soon announce which stores will be carrying the product.

According to the company, the only flavors tested were Homemade Vanilla and Dutch Chocolate. This news was released almost a week after Blue Bell revealed they were resuming production at their Sylacauga, Al. plant.

The plant stopped production of the ice cream and removed the product from store shelves in April when it was learned that the product was linked to listeria illnesses in March.

Chris VanDusen, with the Texas Department of State Health Services, said that Blue Bell must notify the state two weeks before it starts production at its Brenham plant, but the state hasn't received any word that Blue Bell will begin selling or producing ice cream in Texas.

However, the business can produce the ice cream in Alabama, and can then be shipped to Texas without notification to the health department.
