The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting a dry, cool weekend, with lows in the 50s and highs mainly in the 70s. Next week will bring a warming trend, with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s. The next chance of rain will be next Thursday.

In the tropics, no threats are expected for us locally. Hurricane Juaquin will bring heavy rain and storm surge/coastal flooding problems to the east coast of the US this weekend and early next week. Another tropical system is likely to develop in the Atlantic, but poses no threat to the US.
