Bear Iron shows up and shows out at WO-S Powerlifting Meet

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Bear Iron Powerlifting Team got the season off to a good start Thursday, Jan. 22, at the WOS Meet.

The Boys Team took first place, with eight individuals earning recognition: Victor Davilla, first in the 165 pound division; Hunter Fontenot, first in the 181 pound division; Alex Reed, second in the 181 pound division; Trenton Brown, second in the 198 pound division, Garrett Johnson, first in the 242 pound division; Grant Leceaur, third in the 275 pound division; Jeremiah Armstrong, first and Chris Dyson, third in the Super Heavy Weight division.

The Girls Team also had individual medalists. They include Michaela Dearing, first in the 123 pound division; Courtney Price, first in the 132 pound division; Sh'Kayla Rogers, second in the 148 pound division and Kelsey Dyson, third in the 220 pound division.

David Kendrick is Head Coach and Gwen Levens is Assistant Coach.

Bear Iron will be in action at the LC-M Meet Thursday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m.
