LSC-O classes to resume Wednesday

Last updated 3/21/2016 at Noon

Receding flood waters have allowed Lamar State College – Orange personnel to do a preliminary assessment of damage to the campus. Both the Wilson Building and the Green Avenue Building were flooded. Water reached a depth of 10” in the Green Avenue Building and 3” in the Wilson Building. Both buildings will need drywall repair and flooring replacement.

Classes at Lamar State College – Orange will not resume until Wednesday, March 23. Students were originally scheduled to return from Spring Break on March 21 but that date has been moved back to accommodate road closures and to prepare space for classes that were meeting in the two flooded buildings. The delay in resuming classes will not impact the academic calendar of the May graduation date.

Lamar State College – Orange offices will reopen on Monday, March 21. Staff employees should report to work as usual.
