The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms to move east out of Texas and weaken. Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected today and again on Saturday, with the highest threat area being in southeast Texas and the lowest threat area in south central Louisiana. Between one to two inches of rain could be seen in southeast Texas. There is also a small risk for severe storms in southeast Texas Friday and Saturday.

Sunday through next Thursday will bring smaller rain chances each day, with seasonable temperatures.

Along the coast, expect to see tides continue the spring season trend of running above normal through next week. Minor coastal flooding could occur during times of high tides.
