Jerry D. Fawcett, 75 of Vidor died Thursday, June 2, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A native of Silsbee, he was a longtime resident of Vidor.

He was a union boilermaker for 22 years at Bethlehem Steel. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of DAV Post 236, American Legion and Christ Community Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and western show's. He was a jokester with the whole family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 7, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with entombment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Monday, June 6, at Memorial Funeral Home.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Leanna Sue Fawcett of Vidor; son, Gary Allen Fawcett of Kirbyville; daughters, Rebecca Sue Springfield and Shelia Kay Fawcett, both of Vidor, Deborah Leanna Galaviz of Orange and Deanna Ruth Smith of Vidor; brother Leo Daniel Fawcett and sisters, Jeanet McCoy, all of Vidor and Bonnie Allen of Las Cruces, NM; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
