Independence Day is on Monday and that means an extended holiday weekend is on tap. That also means there will be numerous business closures, including local municipalities.

The Independence Day holiday is on Monday, July 4, and all non-essential city offices in Orange, West Orange, Pinehurst and Bridge City will be closed for business on Monday, July 4. Each of these city offices will reopen for business as normal on Tuesday, July 5.

All non-essential offices for Orange County, as well as the majority of state and federal offices, will be closed in observance of the Fourth of July holiday as well. Despite being a holiday on Monday, many garbage collection services will run as normal in some communities, so be sure to check with your respective garbage collection service.

The United States Postal Service will observe Independence Day on Monday, so mail service will not be running that day. Mail delivery and services will be available as normal on Tuesday, July 5.

Financial institutions such as First Financial Bank, Sabine Federal Credit Union, Community Bank, Bridge City Bank, MCT Credit Union, Neches Federal Credit Union and others will be closed in observance of the Fourth of July holiday on Monday as well.

The offices of The County Record in Orange and The Penny Record in Bridge City will be minimally staffed and open for business on July 4 to prepare for production deadlines on Tuesday, July 5.
