The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is monitoring major Hurricane Matthew, which moved over Haiti this morning. Longer term forecasts show a trend to move further west, meaning this system could be a threat to Florida and/or the east coast of the US late this week and weekend.

At this point, there is no threat to our region, but it bears watching as we go through the end of this week.
