Leslie Anne Smith, 65, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Pinehurst Nursing Home, in Pinehurst, Texas, after an extended illness. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.

Leslie was born on Monday, January 29, 1951, to the late Betty Sue (Peritte) and Dennis Amodeo.

She was a woman who loved people and never met a stranger.

Leslie extended her home and her means to help anyone she could.

She was very proud of her family and made sure everyone she met knew she had a family that she loved more than anything.

Leslie loved thrift shopping and she had a room in her house dedicated to every occasion and person; pre-wrapped and bagged with gifts ahead of time, from baby showers to Christmas presents.

She adopted her in-law’s children as her own and had photo albums, and gifts, designated just for her “other grandkids”.

Leslie was a giver and knew how to love.

Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and she relished them with kisses, “I love you’s”, and phone calls, just to check-in and support the events they were involved in; they always knew how much they were loved by Mom

Those left to cherish her memory most are her father, Dennis Amodeo of Orange, Texas; twin sister, Mary (Jack) Greenwll of Bridge City, Texasw; sons, Calvin Turner of Silsbee, Texas, and Tim Amodeo and his wife, Melissa, of Orange, Texas; granddaughters, Amy Marie Turner- Solis, Oriana Amodeo, and Keeleigh Amodeo; and her very dear and special friend, James Donnaud of Orange, Texas.

A memorial service will be held for Leslie at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Community Church, in Orange, Texas.
