Name released in aggravated assault in Orangefield

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is looking Tommy Lynn Jones, 37, in the assault his 43 year old wife Wednesday morning in Orangefield.

Jones then slammed into a home with a truck while fleeing the scene.

The sheriff’s office had received a 911 call Wednesday at approximately 5:40 a.m.

from 3234 Linscomb Road in Orangefield.

The caller advised that her mother had been assaulted by her father.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the 43 year old resident bleeding profusely.

The woman stated she had been assaulted by her husband.

After the assault, Jones fled the scene in a white Ford F-250 pick-up.

According to police reports, the suspect apparently flew over the railroad track and crashed into a home on S. Terry Road in Orangefield.

The man then ran into the woods on foot and has not been located after a search by sheriff’s officers of the surrounding area.

Acadian ambulance transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Orange, where she was treated and released.

A warrant for Jones' arrest has been issued for Aggrevated Assault/Family Violence.
