Bridge City High School competed at the UIL District Academic Meet at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Here are the results from this contest: in Calculator Applications, Brandon Curl placed 1st, Jacob Cunningham placed 2nd, and Michael Tran placed 3rd.

The Calculator Applications team of Brandon Curl, Jacob Cunningham, Michael Tran, and Alex Gonzales took 1st place team.

In Mathematics, Brandon Curl took 1st place and Jacob Cunningham took 6th place.

The Mathematics team of Brandon Curl, Jacob Cunningham, Michael Tran, and Alex Gonzales took 2nd place team.

In Number Sense, Jacob Cunningham placed 4th and Brandon Curl placed 6th.

In Editorial Writing, Savanah Contreras took 3rd place. In Feature Writing, Fabian Rodriguez took 3rd place. In Copy Editing, Alex Gonzalez took 2nd place and Reese Taylor took 4th place. The sponsor for these events is Genevieve Garrison.

In Science, Brandon Curl took 3rd place and Cameron Brooks took 6th place. Brandon Curl received the top Physics award. In Spelling, Nicholas Pfister placed 1st, Emma Breaux placed 3rd, and Alex Gonzales placed 4th. The Spelling team of Nicholas Pfister, Emma Breaux, Alex Gonzales, and Meagan Bigler took 1st place team. The sponsor for these events is Donna Schrock.

In Persuasive Speaking, Marlee Bradley took 4th place. In Current Events, Jason Withers took 2nd place and Keagan Smith took 5th place. The Current Events team of Jason Withers, Keagan Smith, Meagan Bigler, and Kobe Bailey took 2nd place team. The sponsor for these events is Shannon King.

In Poetry Interpretation, Saysha Milstead took 4th place. In Social Studies, Jason Withers took 1st place and Cameron Palermo took 5th place. The sponsor for these events is Don Miller.

All contestants who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd and all first place teams will advance to the UIL Regional Academic Meet in Huntsville at Sam Houston State University on April 14, 2018.
