Emergency Alerting exercise
Participating jurisdictions within the Southeast Texas. including the Pinehurst Police Department, will conduct a mass notification exercise scheduled for the morning ofThursday, July 26, 2018 using the Southeast Texas Alerting Network (STAN). During the exercise, a “test message” will be sent to land lines and cell phones that have previously registered with the system. The exercise is meant to encourage residents to register their cell phones for alert notifications.
STAN, a mass notification system utilized during emergency situations, Also known as SwiftReach, allows local jurisdictions to send messages via email, text, and phone calls to residents registered with the system. These emergency situations can include, but are not limited to, hurricane evacuations and updates, shelter-in-place notifications, and other natural or man-made incidents that cause significant disruption to your daily activities.
